How does one woman turn spaces into stories of belonging?

Dear Lovely Human,

Every now and then, you meet someone who reminds you that spaces aren’t just built — they’re felt.

Sherina Hosein is one of those people for me. From the glass towers of investment banking to the quiet streets of neighborhoods she’s helping transform, Sherina has learned that every wall we raise and every door we open can tell a story — of belonging, of purpose, of people finding their place in the world.

She isn’t just developing and financing properties. She’s shaping communities that elevate lives, bridge opportunity, and redefine what home really means.

Through her blend of financial acumen and human-centered design, Sherina builds with a rare intention — profit, yes, but also pride, sustainability, and soul.

I have known Sherina for years now ( she is a fellow island girl like me and our families know each other), and this is the first time after decades of guiding some of the wealthiest Caribbean businessmen and powerful companies through their fund raising, investment and real-estate decisions that she has stepped into the spotlight herself. Over 50, with courage in her chest and decades of hard-won experience behind her, she is choosing to build her own path.

Not for ego.
Not for applause.
But because she believes in something simple and profound: that the places where we live and work should make us feel seen, safe, and proud.

I’ve long been one of her biggest fans—especially as a mother. Her son, now in his early twenties, attended my youth entrepreneurship camps as a teenager and has grown into a determined aspiring astronaut. Her daughter is on a full academic scholarship in environmental engineering at one of the top universities in the U.S. They both unquestionably inherited their mother’s brilliance and drive.

From Wall Street to Main Street
Sherina began her career in the high-stakes world of investment banking, leading private placement transactions totaling over $1 billion in institutional and sovereign debt. Those years taught her the mechanics of global capital — but more importantly, they gave her the discipline to thrive in uncertainty.

When she transitioned into private equity and project development, she didn’t just move into real estate — she elevated it. Sherina specialized in acquiring and repositioning luxury hotels and Class A office properties, sharpening her instinct for value creation in complex environments

The Moment Everything Changed
When Sherina joined a 14-year-old private equity firm that had raised only $2 million for its first fund, she found herself at a crossroads. Days before the fund closed — and in the middle of a global pandemic — she brought in a $10 million institutional investor. It was a turning point that didn’t just alter the firm’s trajectory, it redefined her own.

Investing for Profit and for Purpose
Real Estate to Sherina is more than an asset—it’s a vessel for change. Her mission is to build portfolios that improve lives while generating returns — spaces that foster wellness, sustainability, and community pride. To her, shelter is more than four walls; it’s where quality of design meets quality of life.

She’s part of a new generation of real estate leaders integrating proptech and climate tech to create future-ready communities — places that perform financially and sustain the planet.

Strategy Meets Soul
Sherina’s investment philosophy reads like an operating system for modern capital. Her approach is data-driven, disciplined, and humane. She starts by screening landlord-friendly states, tracking population growth, employment, and income trends, and targets assets with occupancy rates above 83%.

Her markets — from South Florida to emerging aerospace hubs — are chosen not just for yield, but for their transformative potential. She sees opportunity where migration meets innovation.

How can you be part of Sherina's mission?

Invest or partner with her if you share her vision of purpose-driven real estate.

Make an introduction to a potential investor, collaborator, or property partner aligned with her ethos.

Learn from her and explore how data and empathy can coexist in building thriving communities

I will end on this note…

I see Sherina’s work as the bridge between finance and humanity — proof that real estate can be a force for good, not just gain.

Sherina reminds us that when capital meets conscience, we don’t just build properties.
We build possibility..

Warmly,
Sal
