Why is October the month of ruthless focus for them?
Dear Lovely Human,
October isn’t just another month — it’s the opening chapter of the final act. The last quarter begins here, and how we move through these weeks will define how we begin next year.
Jan 2026 depends on what you do not , three months before. What you tolerate now you will find yourself tolerating down the road so choose carefully.
I tend to be ruthless the last quarter of each year. I give no time to distractions and where I am generous is with intention. I fire fast all dead weight this season and remove anyone and anything that are energy drainers. I also elevate and deeply invest in those who carry parts of my load.
The truth? Beginnings aren’t written in January. They’re crafted now. And if you start this quarter with sharp thoughts and deliberate actions, you’ll close the year and begin the new one not just on a high note, but with a standing ovation.

📌The Week, in Smart:
What is the latest news in AI & Emerging Tech?
• ChatGPT now supports “Instant Checkout”, letting U.S. users buy directly from Etsy (and soon Shopify) merchants within the chat interface — essentially bringing e-commerce into ChatGPT itself.
• Trusted by over half a million engineers at leading companies. The IDE that doesn’t just code - it collaborates.
• 30 hours straight…. who can keep up anymore?
• A video + audio generation model with realistic physics, synchronized sound, and user “cameo” insertion—could disrupt retail marketing by enabling brands to instantly create hyper-personalized, immersive product ads and virtual try-ons.
• Finally AI for data structuring and you don’t have to be a data scientist.
How can I stay ahead in Learning and Development?
• Riyadh isn’t just hosting events. It’s shaping how we’ll learn tomorrow. I will be there and hope to see you next week!
• Pharma Patents aren’t just legalese. The Indian Patent Office has revoked Novartis’ patent on Vymada (sacubitril + valsartan) — a blockbuster cardiac drug — citing lack of novelty, insufficient inventive step, and poor disclosure of advantages.
• Who loves Brene Brown? I suggest trading lunch for her new book.
• This is the India Opportunity. Listen and learn.

How do I broaden my Global Worldview? India (Part 1)
Every month in our GLEAC community, we open up our mindsets by studying a new country. This month, we dive deep into India.
When Leena Kapoor landed in Mumbai, she braced herself for the cliché she’d been warned about her whole life: “India is chaos.”
Myths, Busted
Myth: India is just chaos and disorder.
Truth: From the dabbawalas in Mumbai who deliver 200,000 lunchboxes daily with near-perfect accuracy, to the world’s largest democratic elections involving 900M+ voters, India runs some of the most complex systems on earth with remarkable efficiency. What looks like chaos is often choreography.
Myth: India is stuck in poverty and underdevelopment.
Truth: India is the world’s fifth-largest economy and home to over 100 unicorn startups. Bangalore is called the “Silicon Valley of Asia,” and India adds a new startup every 30 minutes. Poverty exists, yes, but so does an unstoppable wave of tech-driven growth.
Myth: India is only about tradition, not innovation.
Truth: India simultaneously runs on 5,000-year-old practices like Ayurveda and yoga while also leading in AI, fintech, and space exploration (its space agency landed a craft on the Moon’s south pole in 2023, the first in the world to do so). Tradition and innovation aren’t opposites here — they’re intertwined.
Myth: India is conservative and closed-off.
Truth: India is one of the youngest countries in the world (median age ~28), and its cities are cultural mash-ups where Gen Z runs sneaker brands, queer poetry nights, and AI hackathons. The country’s youth are globally connected, digitally native, and redefining what “modern India” looks like.
On a personal note, if you’re planning a trip to India, I have a few favorites to share. My absolute favorite hotel chain there is Postcards Resorts—their properties are intimate, beautifully designed, and capture India’s spirit in a special way.
My favorite city is Bangalore, thanks to its cool, laid-back vibe, lush greenery, and year-round pleasant weather—averaging around 23 degrees, even in summer.
And yes, I do have some Indian roots. Though I was born in the Caribbean, my great-grandparents on my father’s side came from India. Under British rule, many Indians were sent to the Caribbean as indentured workers, and that’s how my family story connects back to India.

Momentum today carries more weight than resolutions made in January.
Strong endings are built long before the win.
Starve your distractions, feed your focus.

And finally…..
🎯 What can I do to Impact, Live Sustainably and Make the World a Better Place?
• Your dinner plate carries more than just food. Guess what else you’ve been swallowing?
• A filter for your blood. Could this hack add years to your life? This one blew me away…. we will all now become vampires of our children’s blood?
• The Nobel peace prize once came with a twist. Who dared to turn it down?
• Some leaders chase votes. Others chase the Nobel Prize. Guess which camp Trump was in?
