You’re Missing This When You Don’t Pause
Dear Lovely Human,
Our brains are like jazz musicians—rest notes matter as much as the melody, giving space for new connections to emerge.
This past summer, many of you know I was out for about a month recovering from tummy cyst surgery. It was the worst timing possible—just as I was launching my first social capital building agent for my Gen-Xers.
But stepping away allowed the noise to stop. The setback became the sideways doorway into fresh perspective. This newsletter was born from this setback since as you all know I am a writer at heart also and basically started it knowing I would have time to finally write again.
The wheel wasn’t invented by walking faster. Airbnb didn’t emerge from building more hotels. Innovation shows up when you tilt your gaze just enough to notice what no one else does.
Perspective isn’t about seeing further. It’s about seeing differently. And sometimes, that difference changes everything.

📌The Week, in Smart:
What is the latest news in AI & Emerging Tech?
• Women now slightly outnumber men among ChatGPT users — a shift from early days when men were around 80% of users. Could this become another kind of turning point, similar to how the gender balance in college degrees flipped — changing not just who participates, but how we all engage with AI?
• I don’t know about you, but for the first time I can remember, I’m not renewing Microsoft PowerPoint or the rest of the suite this year. Here’s why…
• The Comeback Code: Oracle’s OpenAI Bet that Just Might Be the Plot Twist We Missed
• How AI Is Learning to Code Like Us, and For Us…
How can I stay ahead in Learning and Development?
• Want to know where my confidence as a female entrepreneur comes from? I learned to wear my crown—and it started with this book. The best part? You can publish your own before the year is up. I dare you.
• Real leaders know the power of quitting—not as a weakness, but as wisdom to walk away from what no longer serves the mission.
• The first 100 days in a new role can make or break your career — this book shows how to win them.

How do I broaden my Global Worldview? Vietnam (Part 3)
Vietnam is the world’s second-largest coffee exporter, but its local café culture is where the real richness lives — bold, creative, and brewed to be shared.
Some of the best in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) are listed here:
The Workshop Coffee
43 Factory Coffee Roaster
96B Cafe & Roastery
Soo Kafe (Hidden Elephant Books & Coffee)
Okkio Caffe
Padma de Fleur (florist + café)
Cong Cafe
Samantha ducked into a narrow café in Hanoi, expecting a quick espresso hit. What she got instead was a ceremony: egg yolk whipped into sweetened milk, poured slowly over dark roast like a gift being wrapped in silk. The barista smiled. “Sit. This isn’t fast coffee.”
And he was right.
It wasn’t fast. It was deep.
Each café was different — but the vibe was always the same: stay, make something, feel something.
This wasn’t just coffee culture. It was community in a cup.

You don’t need a telescope to see differently — Sometimes, all it takes is a tilt of the head
What looks ordinary head-on can be extraordinary when seen from the side.
Perspective isn’t about distance; it’s about angle

And finally…..
🎯 What can I do to Impact, Live Sustainably and Make the World a Better Place?
• The secret to living longer isn’t in your genes or your gym routine, but in the strength of your human connections
• According to the World Meteorological Organisation, the ozone layer is expected to recover to 1980s levels by around the middle of this century. The recovery is viewed as a rare environmental success story…
